Volunteer hours are set for Monday / Wednesday / Friday 9am-11am, and 2nd Saturday of the month from 9am-12pm.

Spring 2026:
Hello Garden Friends!
Spring is flourishing at Ron Pedde. All our native plants are doing well and growing daily. The new Antelope Horn Milkweed are also thriving; including the zizotes milkweed harvested from another site by myself and transplanted by Kathy. We will be ready to welcome the Monarchs home soon!
Common buckeye and Sulfur butterflies have been visiting. Our first hummingbird came visiting and wondering when our flame acanthus will be in bloom! Sunflower seeds sowed via our local birds popping up everywhere!
In addition to daily pest checks, weeding, and watering we will be finishing the planting of the square foot garden beds.
We have 2 temporary beds that will be receiving a few bags of soil and new plants.
We will be rearranging the sensory beds and planting fun stuff. Construction on the mud kitchen is getting under way. A large sunshade has been donated; we will be getting it up in the next couple of weeks.
We have a handful of wonderful community volunteers continuing to support our efforts in the garden with daily chores and the building of needed structures.
Come out and enjoy the space and get your hands dirty.
This is a wonderful opportunity to earn volunteer hours, learn something new or simply enjoy the company of fellow gardeners. Please dress appropriately for garden work; bring sunblock, a hat, gloves and water. Location: 1017 Town Creek Rd, Cibolo, TX, 78108. M/W/F – 9 to 11am

Winter 2025:
- We currently have a beautiful crop of cold weather veggies growing in our raised beds. Our pollinator beds are starting to fill out. Come spring it will be lush and colorful. We are all looking forward to Spring!
- The city is working to prepare the area that will be the future home to some fruit trees, perennial plants and more beds.

Water plants deeply: Focus on the root zone rather than shallow surface watering.

Inspect plants regularly: Look under leaves and stems for pests like aphids, mites, or caterpillars.

Deadhead flowers: Remove spent blooms to promote further flowering.

Harvest ripe produce daily: Pick fruits and vegetables at peak ripeness for best flavor.

Clean up harvested areas: Remove old plant material to reduce disease risk.

- Bee Week Feb 23/25/27th (Home School Learner Event) *See attached Flyer* Big Event! This is a 3-day event; we will have learning stations about our native bees and an opportunity for learners to make a bee house to take home. We have 130+ learners signed up currently!!!
