Native Plant Society of Texas Guadalupe Chapter – April Meeting

The Guadalupe Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas will hold its monthly meeting Tuesday April 8th at 7:00 pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church, FM 465, Marion, Texas.

Program: “Invasive Plants: Stop the Spread, Spread the Word!” by CherylHamilton in person and she will bring example plants.

Cheryl Hamilton is an Alamo Area Master Naturalist and a member of the San Antonio Chapter of the NPSOT. She is a co-founding member of the Balcones Satellite of the Invaders of Texas Program “Salsa Squad” where volunteers have eradicated more than 200,000 invasive plants from city, state, and national parks and preserves in Bexar County and adjacent counties. Nonnative, invasive plants are destroying biodiversity and wreaking havoc in our backyards, neighborhoods, parks and preserves. Cheryl will discuss strategies for management include prevention, identification and eradication.

There will be Social time at 6:30 p.m., followed by the program at 7:00 p.m.
