You asked for it, and here it is! A hands-on canning class will be offered on Saturday, October 19th, 2024, at the Seguin AgriLife Building.
If you are interested in learning to do home canning using safe, recommended methods, this class is for you. You must pre-register to attend and you have a choice of a morning or an afternoon Saturday class. This is a “hands-on” class, and you’ll go home with a jar of jam made by you! William Nodine and April Rippel have worked very hard to provide you with the latest safety methods for home canning. You will be participating in a small group to learn the complete water bath method for canning acid foods. Pressure canning will also be covered in the lecture portion of the class. Even if you have been canning for years, you will want to attend this class. Each participant will receive a nearly 200-page USDA handbook, “Complete Guide to Home Canning” valued at over $300 along with lots of other information and goodies.
