Per the schedule, above we will begin making crafts we will sell at upcoming plant sales, the County Fair, Pecan Fest, and Yulefest. We have quite a variety of things we plan on creating. You do not need to be an artist to do crafts. Your willingness to participate is all that’s needed. We will be creating the following items: painted pots, butterfly feeders, tic-tac-toe board pieces, flower holders, decorative flower themed magnets, and pet rocks. All of these are going to be fun and easy to make no matter your skill level.
In August we are going to concentrate on painting pots, creating some butterfly feeders, pet rocks, and pieces for the tic-tac-toe board game. We will be creating the magnets and flower holders in September, along with finishing items already underway.
Below is a SignUp Genius for all of the dates for August and September. I am asking everyone who wishes to participate to sign up so I know how many materials I need to bring to the AgriLife building. If I have no one signed up for a particular day, it will be cancelled. We had only a handful of people participate in Craft Days during the spring, but we were able to make a lot of painted pots. Every pot we took to the plant shows sold, making a tidy profit from each one. These events are used as a way of helping members complete their required volunteer time.
