<p><b> </b><b><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><em>Speakers Bureau</em> </span>– Treva Hicks, </b><a href="mailto:hickslt@lycos.com">hickslt@lycos.com</a> Task: Finds opportunities where Master Gardener’s can talk to groups about garden related topics; matches speakers with groups that have same interests; keeps the Speakers’ calendar. If you have a topic and feel you can talk with med to large groups, contact Treva she will try to find an origination for you. And if you would like to talk with an other Master Gardener specialist to assist email Treva you subject. </p>
<p><b> </b><b>Refreshment</b> <b>Coordinator:</b> <b>Treva Hicks,</b> <a href="mailto:hickslt@lycos.com">hickslt@lycos.com</a><b>, this project is open for a new coordinator </b><b>\coordinators </b>Task: Master Gardener’s monthly meeting sign up to bring refreshments,  involves taking sign-up sheet to the Master Gardener’s meeting, confirming volunteer’s week before meeting and assisting the volunteers thirty minutes before meeting. </p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><em> Guadalupe County Community Garden (GCCG)</em></strong></span>Guadalupe County Annex Building in Schertz, 1101 Elbel Road, Schertz, TX 78154 Chairman Linda Bruno, <a href="mailto:jlbruno@gvec.net">jlbruno@gvec.net</a> Date: Workdays scheduled Every Mondays and Thursdays 9:00am, and 2<sup>nd</sup> Saturday of each month Task: Volunteers will monitor &#8211; maintain, repair, plant. This teaching garden as well as maintain raised beds that provides produce for Food Banks and other needy programs.  Contact Garden committee if you would like to work in the garden another day or time.  All volunteer workers welcome.</p>
<p> <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><em><b>Texas Agricultural Education &amp; Heritage Center, Big Red Barn -</b> <b>Educational/Herb &amp; Butterfly Garden  </b></em></span><b>390 Cordova Road, Seguin, Texas 78155</b>Contact person for Master Gardener volunteers:  Gretchen Ricker. <a href="mailto:gricker@satx.rr.com">gricker@satx.rr.com</a> Date: Every Friday Mornings, Duties of the vegetable garden are weeding and trimming, mulching, re-planting, Re-creating new beds. The garden is maintained for the sole purpose to use as Educational Presentations for Master Gardener programs, Ag Awareness Fairs, Pecan Festival and Ag Festival.  This education garden is also open to the public for the Big Red Barn tours; contact the Big Red Barn for tour dates and time, (830) 379-0933</p>

<p> <em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><b>Wilson County Gardening Day</b> </span></em>March <sup>    </sup>Saturday In Floresville Chairman Peggy Jones, <a href="mailto:pljones@swbell.net">pljones@swbell.net</a>  Two shifts 7:45am to 4:00pm Task: Volunteers take materials and free seeds to give out at the booth and answer questions (also a good source to buy plants, see other demonstrations and ideas for our future programs.)  Great to promote our upcoming class with our booth.  </p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><em><b>Earth Day</b> in Seguin at the Square</em></span> on April 27 2013 8:30 to 2:30 Committee Chairman: Randy Rye,<a href="mailto:randy.rye@gmail.com">randy.rye@gmail.com</a> Task: In February, a committee of volunteers come up with a theme for recycle, and selects a chairman. Set up three booths and volunteers carry materials, set up display, talk to town’s people about plants and gardening, answer questions, and possible demonstrations. This is a great Location to recruit for next Master Gardener class.</p>

<p><b> </b><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><b>Guadalupe County Fair</b> </span></em>on second week in October, <b>City of Seguin Coliseum </b><b>950 South Austin Street, Seguin, TX 78155 need </b>Chairman <b><span style="text-decoration: underline;">____________</span></b> <strong>co Chairman</strong> __________________ Kids Table_________________ Master Gardeners are responsible for acceptance of Horticultural and other related entries to be judged. During the Fair, Master Gardeners operate an information and demonstration booths where they talk to the public and answer questions and give seeds and handouts. <b> </b></p>
<p><b><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><em>Water Fairs</em></span>, October_________ and October __________ and November ___________ </b>Volunteers set up Rainfall simulator and or Water Cycle display this is a shorter time demonstrating than the Ag Fair and Ag day for Kids. </p>
<p><b><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Ag Awareness Fair</span></em>-The </b><b>Big Red Barn – </b>in October (three weeks) <b>Texas Agricultural Education &amp; Heritage Center, Big Red Barn </b><b>390 Cordova Road, Seguin, Texas 78155 </b>Chairman _________________, Volunteers talk to 3<sup>rd</sup> 4<sup>th</sup> or 5<sup>th</sup> graders about importance of gardening and produce in 15-20 minute increments around 12 times during the day. <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Master Gardeners schedule volunteers for only three days.</span> Master Gardeners are approved to volunteer the other days thru the Big Red barn by calling (830) 379-0933.</p>
<p><strong><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"> Pecan Festival </span></em></strong>in October <b>Texas Agricultural Education &amp; Heritage Center, Big Red Barn </b><b>390 Cordova Road, Seguin, Texas 78155 </b>Chairman _________    Volunteers will man the vegetable garden at the Big Red Barn answering questions &#8212; we need folks in the garden, volunteer shifts<b> </b>(ideally, two volunteers per shift; volunteers are welcome to serve on more than one shift) Also at other stations in the Barn and still get credit hours (helping with kids activities)</p>
<p> <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><em><b>Ag Fair-Texas A&amp;M AgriLife –</b> </em></span><b><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><em>Schertz/Cibolo/Universal City</em></span>, </b>in November Location Cibolo FFA Barn, this is a 2-day event. Chairman ______________ Co-chairman________________ Volunteers set up display, with gardening/produce, horticulture and water shed stations during 15 to 20-minute presentations around 12 times each day, to 3<sup>rd</sup> or 4<sup>th</sup> grade elementary students. There is no garden at this location to walk thru Master Gardeners use the Raised Bed Display and the Jr. Master Gardener travel displays to introduce teachers and students the square foot gardening concept.</p>
<p><strong><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"> Christmas tree decorating </span></em></strong>contest in Seguin at the Square, end of November or December Chairman __________________ co-chairman Betty Hughes,    2012 plan, and create a theme, make decorations, decorate and take down tree in Seguin’s Central Park. </p>
