Every year Guadalupe County Master Gardeners help Bexar County Master Gardeners with San Antonio’s large stock show, you park your car in a locked area and BCMG shuttle you to the back of the location where you will be working.
February:
Saturday, Feb. 2 , Guadalupe County Native Plant Society– The Lazy Gardener’s workshop (8:30am to 3:15pm) at the Schertz Civic Center at 1400 Schertz Parkway in Schertz. Guadalupe County Master Gardeners will have a table at this event to promote our organization and Class 25. We will need a total of 4 volunteers to cover 2 shifts. Saturday, March 2nd, Wilson County Gardening Day (9 am to 4 pm.) Huge Plant Sale in Floresville located at the Floresville Alternative School 335 Alternative Lane. The event will benefit the South Texas Alternate School Gardening Program and will be held on their school campus off Sutherland Spring Road as you drive into Floresville going south on Hwy. 181. Sponsored by Wilson County News, SAWS, KLUP Radio, & Milbergers Nursery. Guadalupe County Master Gardeners will be giving away seeds, free gardening information and spreading the word of GCMG. Saturday, April 27th, Earth Day in Seguin (8:30 to 2:30.) This is a huge event in Seguin at the square for Guadalupe County Master Gardeners. We have reserved space that is 3 booths wide. A committee has met and a theme is in place contact Randy Rye one of the committee members to sign up email randy.rye@gmail.com. As always sign-up sheets will be at the membership meetings.
May:
Thursday, May 2nd, Ag Festival at the Big Red Barn (6-9pm) Texas Agricultural Education & Heritage Center, Big Red Barn 390 Cordova Road, Seguin, Texas 78155, Volunteers take materials and free seeds, set up display, and talk to town’s people about plants and gardening. Handouts of our next upcoming Class.
Extension/Master Gardeners Water Fairs -All shifts will have an Extension agent to assist volunteers at this time. All supplies will be provided by the Extension Office. Master Volunteers set up and run Rainfall simulator, Water Cycle, Enviroscape, Edible Aquifer displays games Demonstrations for 3rd 4th or 5th graders in 15-20 minute increments. locations for Water Fairs will be held at Seguin, Marion, Schertz/Universal City schools and the Out Door Learning Center in Seguin.

In July Our Guadalupe County Junior Master Gardener’s will be having a Workshop and Teachers will receive credit hours at the Big Red Barn in Seguin, and various schools. Guadalupe County Master Gardeners present to teachers and students the gardening concept and work with teachers with displays. Programs and trainings for teacher to get CEU’s and assist with developing the gardening plans for their schools.
